Can anyone help me understand some American?

A few days ago I asked for help in understanding some Chinese. And now I need some help understanding some American! A Wall Street gossip blog suggested that I'm Muffie's gayer, sluttier male counterpart. The lazy f%*kers at this Wall Street web site have ignored the comment I left, so can anyone else explain Muffie to me? American and English - the languages are related but they're definitely not the same!

I agree that Marc nailed it for you, but if you want a slightly deeper knowledge of Muffie in American usage, it's a [usually snide or satirical] reference to a pampered, vain, vapid daughter of a wealthy family.

Backed up by a fashionable private school education, riding lessons, all the best clothes, and only as many brains as absolutely necessary, Muffie (a nick name for Muffin which is already a nick name for something else like Lucinda) glides through life as Daddy's Little Girl and becomes a SMASHING suburban hostess to some corporate exec or highly placed banker.

"Muffie" will remain with her into her seventh decade, particularly when she and former classmates Pixie, Sue-Sue and Buffy get together for martinis after a strenuous afternoon of shopping.
